Day of workers of road and urban passenger transport this year is celebrated on October 25. On the eve of the holiday, employees of transport enterprises of the region were honored - certificates of honor and gratitude were presented to them by Deputy Minister of Transport and Roads of the Kursk region Svetlana Gramchakova.
She noted that this day is another reason to thank everyone who every day, in any weather, early morning and late evening transports residents of the region to work, home and to their loved ones. This is a responsible and important work, on which the comfort and mobility of thousands of people directly depend. The Deputy Minister stressed that no matter how the transport and route network are updated, the main resource of the industry remains people – those who every day go on the line and ensure the movement of public transport.
The development of the transport system of the region is complex: the route network is being improved, rolling stock is being updated, infrastructure is being modernized. So, Kursk received 26 buses this year. In addition, thanks to the compensation payment approved by the Government of the Russian Federation, it is planned to purchase an additional batch of vehicles for the city. In 2027, another 27 buses are expected to arrive.
Passenger traffic is also growing: since the beginning of 2026, residents of Kursk have made more than 60 million trips by public transport. Buses, trolleybuses and trams are becoming an increasingly convenient and popular way to get around the city.
