On September 10, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting on licensing of certain activities. The draft law “On changing the laws on licensing issues” prepared by the Ministry of Economy was submitted for consideration, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
The head of state stressed the importance and relevance of the topic for the country as a whole and urged parliamentarians to pay serious attention to this issue. He proposed to discuss the most acute novelties of the document in order to determine approaches to its further revision in parliament.
Speaking about the term “licensing”, the Belarusian leader noted that this is a kind of rules of the game.
- The basis is permission. I have a license, I'm working. There may be limitations. It is necessary to understand that if we are talking about restrictions, they are forced and should be directed for good, not for harm, the BelTA President said.
Ah. Lukashenko also noted that licensing is not an end in itself:
- Any type of activity can be regulated. But excessive barriers, insufficiently balanced decisions, even unfinished formulations can have a very adverse impact on both people and the economy, the Head of State said.
