Lukashenko: Protecting our land is our task, whatever it takes
Belarus is not going to attack anyone, but it is obliged to ensure its security.

Belarus is not going to attack anyone, but it must ensure its security, whatever the cost. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said this during a meeting with the military at the Obuz-Lesnovsky combined arms training ground, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
- Some of us are trying to reproach that tomorrow we are going to attack someone. We are not going to attack anyone, we are pragmatic. We understand that if someone (say, from our neighbors) is attacked, it is like death. We cannot win the conflict with our “monsters”, perimeter states. Why start a war, if it’s absolutely frank? But we must protect a centimeter, a millimeter of our land, our population, and ensure security, Alexander Lukashenko said. This is our job, whatever the cost. Even if it costs us our lives. We have to prepare for this and prepare for it.
This was discussed in the context of the conversation about the modernization of the communication system in the troops and the conduct of operational-special exercises of the communications troops of the Armed Forces.
- We'll do this exercise. We also have the Ministry of Internal Affairs under operational control, and units are deployed in the Armed Forces, some of them according to wartime norms, for example, an artillery brigade. We will continue this process (training troops and improving the military organization of the state). — BelTA, — said the Belarusian leader.
- And let neither the Poles, nor the Lithuanians, nor the Latvians, nor the Ukrainians think that we will attack them tomorrow and therefore conduct exercises. No, we are preparing for any war to avoid it – a simple and understandable formula.
Speaking about the importance of communication systems in the troops, he noted:
- We're shooting and moving pretty well. But in order to shoot and move, you need certain commands, which in the event of a conflict will be transmitted through the means of communication. Therefore, we want to see, in addition to machine guns, assault rifles, pistols, missiles, tanks and other armored vehicles, how we will manage this complex. This requires a communication system, so that the state as a whole is governed in the event of a conflict, and the means of this communication. This is so that it will be clear to those who hear us, why we started all this.
