The city authorities are actively fighting against unauthorized graffiti that spoil the image of the regional capital. More than 2,000 street video cameras capture everything. The head of Vologda Sergey Zhestyannikov spoke about some specific results.
For example, in December last year, a young man born in 2009 “painted” the porch of dentistry on Razina street, 58. By the decision of the Commission on juvenile Affairs, he was brought to administrative responsibility. The fine to the city budget was 3,000 rubles. The owner of the dentistry was also compensated for material damage in the amount of 5,000 rubles.
In May 2026, a boy born in 2010 painted the front door of the museum at 32 Mira. The fine also amounted to 3,000 rubles. Two teenagers born in February 2008 and 2009 left graffiti on a fence at 58 Summer Street. Each of them paid 3,000 rubles. In March, cameras identified a teenager who was painting on the facade of a building at 18 Mira. The amount of the fine remained the same.
In the Vologda region, a fine is provided for the application of inscriptions and drawings in the wrong places. In addition, persons under 18 years of age are prohibited from selling varnishes, paints, aerosols, and other paints.
