Mariupol expands the program of sterilization of homeless animals

In Mariupol summed up the interim results of work on sterilization of stray animals. Moscow veterinarians working under the contract have already fulfilled the planned volume: more than three thousand dogs were sterilized, vaccinated against dangerous infections and chipped.

“To date, veterinarians have sterilized, vaccinated against dangerous infectious diseases and chipped more than three thousand dogs,” said the head of the city district Anton Koltsov.

Since the task was in demand, the authorities decided to increase the volume. By the end of the year, it is planned to cover about four thousand individuals with the procedure. This will allow more effective regulation of the population and reduce the level of aggression in animals.

Before returning to the usual environment, dogs undergo overexposure. For this purpose, comfortable enclosures are equipped on a specialized site of the municipal institution "Cozy City". This approach, according to experts, gives the animals time to recover from surgery.

“At the time of sterilization, the animals are overexposed in comfortable enclosures on a specialized site of the municipal institution Cozy City,” Anton Koltsov noted.

Five mobile fishing groups continue to operate in the district. They go to all areas at the request of Mariupol. Residents are asked to report clusters of unchipped animals by phone +7-949-033-86-43.
