Marketplaces tighten control over fire extinguishers after checking the MOE
Wildberries removes untested product cards, Ozon launches additional check

After checking the EMERCOM of Russia, marketplaces began to check fire extinguishers. Wildberries removed untested product cards from the catalogue, and Ozon launched an additional check. This is reported by “Business magazine” with reference to TASS.
During the tests, EMERCOM specialists checked 26 devices. None of the models confirmed the characteristics claimed by the manufacturer. The department stressed that the claims do not concern documents, but the actual performance of the goods. In particular, the sample labeled “GOST 2026”, which did not contain data on the manufacturer, did not work.
RWB explained that such cards appeared on the site recently – they were identified and blocked. The company will continue to monitor the category and remove goods with violations. They recalled that sellers when working on the platform confirm the compliance of goods with the legislation and rules of the marketplace.
Ozon reported additional inspection of fire extinguishers. If violations are detected, the cards will be blocked, and sellers will be prosecuted. The company noted that fire extinguishers are subject to mandatory certification - valid certificates and declarations of conformity are required for sale.
