EMERCOM reminded residents of the Pskov region about the reasons for the short circuit and protection from it

Short circuit is one of the most dangerous faults in the power grid. Its causes are wear and malfunction of equipment, installation or repair errors, water entering electrical components, damage to wires, natural wear and tear of insulation and overload. This “MK in Pskov” reported in the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Pskov region.

To prevent short circuit, it is necessary to correctly mount and operate electrical installations, select wiring for the current value, regularly carry out preventive inspections and measure the insulation resistance, correctly choose protection automation.

Before any work with wiring, it must be de-energized.

In case of fire or smoke, you should immediately call the number 101 or the unified emergency services 112.
