Bears want to exclude from the regional Red Book: why in the Ulyanovsk region talked about predators
Residents of the Ulyanovsk region began to report more about the appearance of wild animals near residential buildings

Residents of the Ulyanovsk region began to report more about the appearance of wild animals near residential buildings. The regional Ministry of Natural Resources told what measures are taken to protect the population and where to go when meeting with predators.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Ulyanovsk region reported that information about the release of foxes in settlements has already been transferred to hunters. They were advised to consider additional incentives for hunters to reduce the risk of disease spread and dangerous situations.
The fox belongs to the hunting resources. The season of its production in the region is open from September 15, 2026 to February 28, 2027.
With brown bears, the situation is more complicated. They are listed in the Red Book of the Ulyanovsk region, so their shooting is prohibited. However, the law allows the seizure of individuals if they pose an immediate threat to humans.
The Ministry also began to study the issue of excluding the brown bear from the regional Red Book. The appearance of such a predator in a settlement is considered as a natural emergency.
The organization of measures to protect residents is the responsibility of municipal authorities. They must ensure the readiness of emergency services, allocate the necessary resources and coordinate when a threat arises.
If you find a wild animal in a village, you should contact the local administration. If there is an immediate danger to people, call 112. Dispatchers will pass information to the responsible services.
