Migrants with patents banned from working as sellers in St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg banned foreigners with patents to work in retail, beauty salons, sports and medicine until the end of 2026. This was reported in the press service of Smolny.

Previously, migrants in the city were banned from driving taxis and delivering orders in courier services. Now the list is wider. Authorities explained that the restrictions would help combat gray employment and free up jobs for local residents, including students and college graduates.

The ban does not apply to highly qualified specialists and citizens of the EAEU countries: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. In order for businessmen to fire or transfer employees without haste, the companies were given time to rebuild the state until December 15, 2026.
