Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences replaced the head: acting director appointed corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Mikhail Glyavin

The Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences replaced the head: the acting director was appointed corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Mikhail Glyavin. He took the post of academician Grigory Denisov, who headed the institute for ten years. The reason for the rotation is the age limit for the director at 70 years, which Denisov noted in April 2026, the press service of the IAP RAS reports.
The key principle of leadership Glyavin calls continuity, and the main task of the administration sees in the support of scientific initiatives of employees. He called his predecessor a “generator” of new ideas for the team and stressed the need to develop already launched projects. According to him, in modern realities, the head should not only formulate major scientific tasks, but also actively promote the ideas of employees.
Since the Institute has a strong team led by authoritative leaders of scientific areas, Glyavin sees his task in creating comfortable conditions for the implementation of the planned projects.
