Milyaev recalled the 85th anniversary of the Tula defensive operation during the Second World War

85 years ago, the legendary Tula defensive operation began. Then the second tank army under the command of Colonel-General of the Wehrmacht Guderian began to attack the lands of the region near Belev. About the anniversary reminded the Governor of the Tula region Dmitry Milyaev.

“These days we remember those dramatic and heroic events, bowing our heads before the incredible courage of the defenders of Tula. In memory of the fallen heroes, as well as in honor of the 85th anniversary of the Tula Defense Operation and the 50th anniversary of the awarding of the honorary title “Hero City” to Tula, the guys from the TulSU Student Media Center filmed a series of video materials “Gone to Immortality...”.

The memorial stele "Gone to immortality ..." is located on the territory of the student town of Tula State University. In the stone are carved the names of 28 people – students, teachers and university employees who stood up to defend Tula and other cities of the country from the Nazi invaders.

Behind each name is a long research work: students and teachers of the Department of State and Law painstakingly collected information about each hero. These materials formed the basis of the scripts of the videos shot for the anniversary of the defense of the city.
