Practices of improvement in the Tula region, aimed at preserving historical heritage and local color, have been recognized at the federal level

Practices of improvement in the Tula region, aimed at preserving the historical heritage and local color, have been recognized at the federal level. This was reported by Governor Dmitry Milyaev.
The National Center “Russia” hosted a meeting of the Board of the Expert Council on Architecture and Urban Planning. The participants discussed the formation of a national visual code that reflects the architectural and spatial identity of Russia.
One of the tools of this work is the improvement of public areas within the framework of the federal project “Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment”, which is part of the national project “Infrastructure for Life”.
Since 2017, 385 public spaces have been updated in the Tula region under this program. In addition, 23 large-scale projects were implemented in the region, which became winners of the All-Russian competition for creating a comfortable urban environment. Transformations affected parks, squares, embankments and other territories in all districts of the region.
At the meeting, experts noted the experience of the region in incorporating national traditions and local features into the modern urban environment. So, in Belev Park "PROpark" is decorated using images of Belev lace and traditional toys. In Tula, a playground was created based on Filimonov’s toy, and in Odoev, one of the public spaces was the square “Agricultural Technology”.
Such projects allow not only to renew urban areas, but also to preserve cultural symbols, historical memory and identity of settlements.
Earlier, “MK in Tula” wrote how to change the squares in Shchekino after improvement for 15 million rubles. It is planned to allocate 15 million rubles for these purposes.
