On the Kulikovo field in the Tula region planted 5.5 thousand trees as part of the ecological and patriotic action “Green Dubrava”. The completion of the next stage of the event was announced by Governor Dmitry Milyaev. This year, the action is timed to the 30th anniversary of the Kulikovo Field Museum-Reserve.
Participants gathered in the village of Monastyrshchino. The event was joined by the staff of the Tula Zaseki National Park, the State Enterprise “Nature”, the Tourism Development Agency of the Tula Region, Shchekinoazot JSC, the Tula branch of Gazprom Transgaz Moscow, as well as residents of Tula, Moscow, Lipetsk and other regions.
The planting material - seedlings of cherry oak - was prepared by specialists of the Russian Center for Forest Protection. Throughout October, forest professionals and volunteers planted young trees in the beam complex "Fishing Upper". In 1380, the left and right flanks of the troops of Dmitry Donskoy were located on this territory.
On the day of the completion of the next stage of the action, the guests were also presented with a new ecological trail. The route provides navigation, audio guide and quest booklet. A free audio tour is already available on the izi.TRAVEL platform: an archaeologist and biologist student talk about the history and nature of the Kulikovo Field, as well as introduce them to places suitable for observations and photographs.
The action “Green Dubrava” helps to simultaneously restore natural areas and preserve the memory of the events of national history. The development of such routes also contributes to the popularization of travel in Russia - the national project "Tourism and Hospitality" is dedicated to this direction.
Green Dubrava was restored in 2006. Today, a forest of oaks, ash and linden is again able to shelter people and cavalry. According to historical information, it was from here at the decisive moment of the Kulikovo battle that the Ambush Regiment under the command of Vladimir Serpukhovsky and Dmitry Bobrok-Volynsky, who struck Mamay’s army, came out.
The state of the young forest is monitored by the staff of the nature department of the Kulikovo Field Museum-Reserve.
Earlier, “MK in Tula” wrote that in the Tula region got rid of garbage and weeds 450 hectares near the railway. The Moscow Railway urged passengers and residents of settlements near the tracks to throw garbage only in specially designated places.
