Milyaev stressed the importance of forming a new club sports culture

At the XIV International Sports Forum “Russia is a Sports Power”, the governor of the Tula region Dmitry Milyaev became a participant in the round table. The theme of the theme is, "Let's compare the course. Student sports: towards the 70th anniversary." In 2027, the student sports movement of Russia will mark a round date of existence – seven decades.

We need to rhythmically develop youth, student, corporate, sports for the older generation. As people grow older, they move from one category to another. In any of these age categories, wherever he is – in school, at the institute, in secondary school, at work, and even after retirement – infrastructure and opportunities should be created so that at any age a person has equal opportunities to realize himself in physical education and to realize himself in sports.

According to him, one of the key tools should be regional programs for the development of student sports, which, in accordance with the intersectoral program approved by the decree of the Russian government, should be adopted in all regions of the Russian Federation before the end of 2026.

“Many actors have developed such programmes so far, many but not all yet. In addition, we believe it is necessary to provide for the opening of regional branches of the Russian Student Sports Union in all regions of the Russian Federation, Milyaev added.

He proposed the introduction of so-called school clubs.

“We will attach new importance to the development of school clubs, for example. And here is a lot of work in schools, and in secondary educational institutions, and in educational institutions of higher professional level. This is the formation of a new sports culture. And this, again, is not only sport, it is team spirit, it is friendship, it is normal leisure with all the ensuing consequences.

He did not ignore people with disabilities.

“It is important to ensure the accessibility and participation in the physical and sports life of the university of children, for example, with disabilities. It is clear that they are not an absolute majority in our universities, in our institutes, but, nevertheless, they are, and they, of course, should also be able to exercise their right to engage in physical education and sports in the place where they study. Therefore, the issue of accessibility of such sports facilities inside our educational institutions is quite important, Milyaev said.
