A criminal case against a 21-year-old previously unconvicted citizen who is accused of evading conscription measures has been sent to the court, the Leninsky District Prosecutor’s Office told the Minsk-Novosti correspondent.
As a conscript, in April 2026, the defendant on the agenda had to appear in the military commissariat for a medical examination. But on the appointed day he did not wait.
The defendant did not provide any exculpatory documents, he did not respond to calls from military commissariat employees. At the same time, he was warned about the responsibility for evading conscription events. As a result, a criminal case was opened against the Minsk citizen.
- The accused has a secondary education, he is single, is not officially employed anywhere, has not previously been brought to criminal responsibility, commented Alexander Mazanik, Deputy Prosecutor of the Leninsky District. He was charged with evading conscription measures, that is, committing a crime under Part 1 of Art. 435 of the Criminal Code. The citizen fully admitted his guilt, sincerely repented of what he had done. He explained the reason for the failure to appear in the military commissariat by the fact that he had no desire to do so.
A preventive measure was applied against the accused in the form of a subscription not to leave and proper conduct.
