In the afternoon, the accused went to the food store on Shcherbakov Street, took a basket and went to the trading room for shopping. Already there, the man noticed that there was a wallet forgotten by someone from the buyers. Instead of handing it over to the market administration or the police, he quietly put someone else’s wallet in his pocket.

On the way home, the Minsk citizen examined the contents of the wallet - it contained travel tickets, discount cards, as well as 550 BYN. He took the cash for himself, and threw away the purse as unnecessary.

It turned out that the property in the basket was left by a woman who soon came to her senses and returned for him, but did not find anything, after which she turned to the police. The defendant was detained the next day - his identity was established from the records of CCTV cameras. A criminal case was opened against an unclean citizen.

- The accused had previously had problems with the law - the conviction was extinguished, said Timur Stuzhuk, deputy prosecutor of the Partizan district. He was charged with secret theft of property (theft), that is, with committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code, the sanction of which is up to three years in prison. The citizen fully admitted his guilt, repented of what he had done, returned the stolen money. A preventive measure was applied against him in the form of a subscription not to leave and proper behavior.
