Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov took part in a number of official meetings on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti news agency reports.

With the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Yuraj Blanar M. Ryzhenkov discussed the whole range of bilateral relations and possible directions for their development in the current difficult conditions. The sides considered the situation in the region and expressed confidence in the need to keep communication channels open for an early settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.

The meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi discussed the schedule of upcoming visits and meetings, as well as the agenda of the planned meeting of the joint trade and economic commission.

As noted in the press service of the foreign Ministry, the interlocutors stressed the lack of alternative to a peaceful resolution of the conflict in the middle East region. The parties also discussed the prospects for promoting the Eurasian Charter for Multipolarity and Diversity in the XXI century.

On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, M. Ryzhenkov discussed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation of Tanzania Mahmoud Tabit Kombo the preparation of the visit of the Prime Minister of Belarus to this country. The interlocutors paid special attention to the meetings of representatives of business circles of the two countries and the development of directions for specific joint projects.

In the conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Batmunhiin Battsetseg, the emphasis was placed on the preparation of the visit of the Mongolian delegation at the highest level to Belarus.

- The interlocutors confirmed the need for early preparations for signing a number of bilateral treaties and agreements regulating relations in various spheres. We discussed the organization during the visit of the business forum and meetings of representatives of business circles of the two countries in various areas of cooperation: from the mechanization of agriculture to issues of industrial cooperation, healthcare and education, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

At the meeting with Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Valdrak Janczek, the parties reviewed the full range of bilateral agenda, including the implementation of the decisions of the joint trade and economic commission. The interlocutors touched upon the situation in the Central American region and agreed to continue mutual support in international organizations.

With the head of the foreign Ministry of Botswana Fenjo Butale M. Ryzhenkov discussed the upcoming visits at the highest level. The parties touched upon the issues of expanding the base of bilateral cooperation, creating assembly plants of Belarusian equipment in Botswana and increasing the number of Botswana students in Belarus.

At a meeting with Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohiddin Salem, diplomats shared their views on food security. Emphasis was placed on providing a broad base of equipment and equipment supplies, as well as training Sudanese students in relevant specialties in Belarus.

- Cooperation and mutual support in international organizations were highly appreciated. The head of the Sudanese Foreign Ministry informed about the results achieved in the socio-economic development of the country and the fight against terrorism, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said.

The meeting with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski was devoted to assessing the state of Belarusian-Polish relations and ways of their further development in the interests of the peoples of the two countries. The parties also discussed the situation in the region.

Ryzhenkov also held brief talks with the foreign ministers of Togo, Zimbabwe, Laos, Indonesia, and the CIS member states, during which topical issues of bilateral cooperation were touched upon.
