The Ministry of Culture will have the right to block creative programs in non-core universities
The government has already prepared a final opinion on the initiative
The Ministry of Culture of Russia will be able to prohibit the opening of creative directions in educational institutions that do not belong to the system of culture and art. Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova told about the preparation of such a bill at a meeting with heads of educational organizations in the field of arts at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. This is reported by TASS.
According to Golikova, the document was developed by the Ministry of Culture on behalf of the President. The new mechanism will give the department an additional lever of influence: before launching a creative specialty in a non-core university, it will be necessary to confirm its feasibility. If the Ministry of Culture opposes, the direction will not be opened.
The government has already prepared a final opinion on the initiative. The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that the law will be adopted in the autumn session of the Parliament, and from next year the Ministry of Culture will be able to apply new powers.
Earlier, the Ministry of education proposed to update the list of entrance tests for a number of specialties in universities. This document is still under development.
