The Ministry of education has determined the minimum points of the exam for admission to universities

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation has prepared a draft regulatory act establishing minimum passing points of the Unified State Exam (UGE) for future students intending to enter subordinate universities in the academic year 2027/2028.

Conditions for applicants will remain at the current level and will not differ from the rules of the previous academic cycle. In particular, the minimum threshold of 40 points is fixed for passing the Russian language, profile mathematics, history, foreign languages, literature, as well as biology, geography and chemistry.

For some subjects, higher requirements are set: a minimum of 41 points will be required in physics, 45 points in social science, and 46 points in informatics and information and communication technologies (ICT).

As follows from the information of the Federal Institute of Pedagogical Measurements (FIPI), in 2027 the structure of control and measurement materials will change only in two disciplines. We are talking about history and profile mathematics.

In the history exam, the number of questions will increase from 21 to 22, and the maximum possible primary score will increase from 42 to 43. In the case of profile mathematics, the number of tasks will increase from 19 to 20, while the maximum primary score for the entire work will be 33 instead of the previous 32.

For all other academic disciplines, the volume of examination tasks will remain the same.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov said that from 2027 for applicants to pedagogical higher educational institutions will be introduced mandatory passing profile Unified state exam.

The minister explained that earlier school graduates planning to study at a pedagogical university passed exams in those subjects that corresponded to their future specialty, for example, future history teachers passed history. Although this principle was subsequently abandoned, the practice will now be reinstated.

Thus, applicants choosing pedagogical directions will take an exam in a specific discipline, which directly depends on their future training profile.

In mid-September, Sergey Kravtsov also noted that the Ministry of Education does not plan to complicate the tasks of the Unified State Exam of 2027, and no radical changes are being prepared in this direction.

The head of the department stressed that no significant innovations aimed at simplifying the procedure for passing the exam are not expected, and currently there is an active discussion of demonstration versions of control and measurement materials.

According to him, the process of discussing control and measurement materials for the USE-2027 will last until the end of September, after which the necessary amendments can be made to the documents, the final approval of which is scheduled for until November 10.

It is worth noting that earlier the presidential aide and former head of the Ministry of Education and Science Andrey Fursenko took the initiative to complicate tasks within the USE. He drew attention to the fact that a significant number of schoolchildren receive maximum points on the exam, but later still cannot pass the competition for admission to higher education institutions.
