In mid-October in the Vladimir region actively discussed the state of water bodies — Rpeni and Klyazma. On the surface of the water, clusters of brownish foam were observed, which caused concern among local residents.
Specialists of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources, who examined the rivers on October 20, ruled out the version of man-made pollution. During the inspection, no wastewater discharge was detected, and the water itself retained a natural smell.
A similar picture was recorded on Klyazma above the confluence of the Rpeni. The ministry attributed the phenomenon to seasonal rotting of organics:
“When vegetation (algae and fallen leaves) decompose, organic compounds (alcohols, organic acids) are released, which reduce the surface tension of water and can contribute to the formation of foam.”.
It is worth noting that the final point in the matter will put the inspection of the Prosecutor’s office and Rosprirodnadzor, which is currently not completed.
