“Minsk develops, but preserves historical heritage” – Natalia Kochanova

The image of Minsk is becoming more modern, which is expressed in the development. At the same time, there are more and more reconstructed historical and iconic places. On the City Day, it was noted by the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, authorized representative of the Head of State in Minsk Natalia Kochanova in the visiting holiday studio of the First Information TV channel, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

The speaker of the upper house of Parliament drew attention to what, in addition to comfort, cleanliness and order, Minsk bribes. The city is built and developed, but preserves its historical heritage.

- We are collecting history in bits because we understand that 85 years ago a terrible tragedy came to our land – Minsk was almost completely destroyed. But look at how many historical landmarks appear in our city after reconstruction, Kochanova said.

New facilities are also being built.

- This is also the face of the modern capital. I always say that a city is a living organism and should be treated with great care. You can't upset the balance. When there are high-rise beautiful buildings, it is also the decoration of the city. This speaks about its modernity, about its development, the Chairman of the Council of the Republic noted.

N. Kochanova, born in Polotsk, having lived and worked in the region a significant part of his conscious life, has been living in Minsk for 12 years.

I love the city and I care about everything that happens here. I really want him to live and develop. But I think that's not just me feeling. Even if a person does not live in Minsk, and this is a resident of our country, he, of course, is fond of the capital of his homeland. And this feeling, I think, fills many hearts of Belarusians, the speaker shared.

She admitted that she loves the parks and squares of Minsk. She noted that 40% of its territory is parks and squares. And every year there are more places for recreation, they are ennobled, children's and sports grounds are installed.

- And that really warms my heart. In the center of Minsk, you come to a square or a park, and there are squirrels, hares near you. It's just unique. Such beauty, said N. Kochanova.

Speaking about the development of recreation areas in the capital, she emphasized that many initiatives come from young people. An example is the Garden of Versha.

- I am often in youth classrooms. Our young people are wonderful: talented, intelligent. You just need to listen to her and, of course, somewhere to help solve her problems. On the other hand, young people should appreciate everything that the older generation did, which undoubtedly lived much more difficult, Kochanova said.

In Minsk, conditions are created not only for life and recreation, but also for work.

- Today, a third of the country’s GDP is formed by Minsk – 32%. And, of course, this is a serious contribution to the economy of our state, the Chairman of the Council of the Republic noted.

On this festive day, she wished Minsk citizens happiness, health, well-being, warmth and peace of mind, and Minsk - further successful development and prosperity.

- Today I would like to congratulate not only Minsk residents, because it is a holiday, I think, the inhabitants of our country, Kochanova added. - This is our capital. It's a hero city we're proud of, we love. And what our capital will be depends on what our country will be.
