The relay of improvement took place in the park. Hugo Chavez. Participants of the II International Forum of Young Parliamentarians planted maples, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

The idea of holding the beautification relay was formed at the forum of young parliamentarians in 2025, and the initiative itself was launched in 2026 by the Youth Council under the Minsk City Council.

First, the territory of the children's social boarding house "Sunny" was put in order. Then, the baton was transferred via video to the cities participating in last year’s forum.

The action ended with the landing of maples in the park. Hugo Chavez.

Secretary of the Council of Young Deputies of Gelendzhik Alexander Alekseev noted that participation in such events is not a formality, but an important part of life:

- Subbotniks are everything. I am very glad that there was an opportunity to leave a piece of heritage in the form of a planted tree in the city of Minsk, he said.

According to A. Alekseev, in Gelendzhik, work on landscaping and uniting residents through labor is popular. Special attention is paid to family values.

- We plant trees regularly. We have a family tree project where the municipality buys 300-800 trees. We take the district, invite everyone on Saturday, a family comes, plants a tree and puts a nameplate next to it, Alexeyev shared his experience.

He also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to join the action and celebrate his contribution to the greening of Minsk.

Impressions were shared by a member of the Youth Council under the Minsk City Council of Deputies Marina Gerasimchuk. Participation in such actions is a rare opportunity to be in the circle of like-minded people and do a great common cause.

- I hope that we will remain in the history of this park and this city, she said.

She noted that such events bring people together and allow them to feel a sense of belonging to the common result – planted trees that will grow for many years.

The head of the working group of the youth parliament under the Moscow City Duma on patriotic education of youth Yuri Knapik also shared his impressions.

- For me, this is another opportunity to show that patriotism is not only words, but real deeds for the good of the city. It is important to work and show young people by example that any work is valuable, especially if it improves the lives of citizens, Knapik said.

According to him, in Moscow there are also actions to plant trees and shrubs, although in a smaller volume due to dense development. Most landscaping is carried out in parks, on alleys in new areas, on the outskirts and on the territory of schools.

Now in Minsk, in the park. Hugo Chávez will grow trees planted by the hands of guests and residents of the city as a reminder that big business consists of small deeds.
