Scammers began to break the cars of St. Petersburg for the sake of earning on tow trucks

Unscrupulous tow trucks can intentionally disable cars to make money on their transportation and subsequent repairs. This was told by the assistant of the Department of State and Municipal Management of the Plekhanov REU Sophia Svechnikov.

According to the expert, intruders can themselves offer assistance to drivers, passing out an artificially created malfunction as an accidental breakdown. For example, a car can damage after refueling, pouring oil into the fuel tank.

Svechnikova advised motorists to be wary of the help of unfamiliar tow truckers and, if necessary, independently call the verified service. Before the start of transportation, you should specify the full cost of the service, the details of the organization and the address of the car service center, where the car will be delivered.

If tow truckers dodge answers or refuse to report this information, it may indicate an attempt at deception. The expert also warned against allowing strangers to disassemble the engine on their own under the pretext of diagnostics: thus the car can damage intentionally.
