Scammers cheat Saransk schoolchildren with video games
Swindlers offer to download the "exclusive" or "new" version of the game.

As a rule, attackers operate through popular messengers and social networks, where schoolchildren spend a significant part of their free time. They advertise or write private messages, offering to download an allegedly exclusive or new version of the game, which is not yet available in official app stores.
Most often we are talking about projects popular among teenagers: simulators, shooters and mobile strategies. The link leads to a third-party file that needs to be installed manually.
After downloading the file to the child’s device, fraudsters get remote access to the gadget or to the payment data associated with it. In some cases, the malware requests permissions that give access to the parents’ messages, contacts, and banking apps. Then the scammers either write off the money or use the student’s account to send similar links to his friends and classmates.
