Scammers began to massively send letters to Russians about the alleged tax debt, reported the information portal NEWS.ru with reference to RIA Novosti. The letter is accompanied by an attachment allegedly with “calculations”. But it contains an archive of malware. Its launch can lead to infection of the device with a Trojan virus.
For reliability, fraudsters use the topic of recalculation of personal income tax for 2025. Recipients are informed of the identified debt and the need to urgently clarify personal data.
To do this, recipients of letters are asked to enter TIN, SNILS and code from SMS. For persuasiveness, fraudsters can refer to changes in tax legislation, the introduction of a progressive scale of taxation.
Therefore, citizens who received such a letter are advised to check their “tax situation” on the official website of the Federal Tax Service. And do not follow the attached links and do not transfer your personal data to anyone. In the FNS all this information is known, and confirmation is not required.
