Murmansk school No. 20 received a warning because of the delay in payment of salaries to employees

Municipal budget general education institution of Murmansk “Secondary General Education School No. 20” received a warning from the State Labor Inspectorate in the Murmansk region due to violation of the terms of payment of wages to an employee. This follows from the information on the website of the Prosecutor General.

A school officer was contacted by the inspector. He said he had not received his salary on time for his work between August 18 and August 28, 2026.

In response to an inspection request, the school principal explained that the reason for the delay was a technical software failure at the municipality that serves the school's accounting department. According to the employer, the problem was fixed.

According to the bills presented, the salary for August in the amount of 23,315.29 rubles was paid to the employee on October 9, 2026. On the same day, he received compensation for the delay. In the inspection documents, two different amounts are indicated: in the director’s explanations – 698.79 rubles, and in the settlement sheets – 607.79 rubles.

Based on the results of consideration of the appeal, the inspection found a violation of Part 6 of Article 136 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. According to this rule, wages must be paid at least every half-month, and specific dates of payments must be established by the internal documents of the employer in compliance with the requirements of the law.

In addition, Article 236 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation obliges the employer to pay monetary compensation for delayed wages - not less than 1/150 of the current key rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation from the amount not paid on time for each day of delay. This obligation arises regardless of the fault of the employer.

Article 419 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation provides for the possibility of bringing persons guilty of violating labor legislation to disciplinary, material, civil, administrative and criminal liability in accordance with the procedure established by law.

The inspectorate indicated that the actions of the employer led to a violation of the requirements of labor legislation in terms of payment of wages.
