Man convicted in Dagestan for buying and possessing drugs

The court in Makhachkala sentenced a local resident accused of illegal acquisition and possession of narcotic drugs on a large scale, the joint press service of the courts of Dagestan reports.

According to the materials of the case, the man, being an active drug user, ordered a substance weighing at least 4.75 grams via the Internet and paid for it by transferring it to a bank card. Having received the coordinates of the stash, he took the drug for personal consumption and arrived in the yard of an apartment building in Makhachkala, intending to rent an apartment.

During the operational-search activities, law enforcement officers detained him and examined him: in the pocket of the trousers they found and seized a polymer bag with a powdered substance, which, according to the expert, is a narcotic drug.

The Leninsky District Court of Makhachkala sentenced the man to three years in prison in a general regime colony.
