The most common pretexts for fraudulent calls are the replacement of the intercom door, the replacement of meters, courier delivery and the extension of the contract with the mobile operator. This was told by Deputy head of the main department for combating cybercrime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Alexander Ringevich, writes sb.by.

Alexander Ringevich said that still the most popular way of deception by attackers are calls, during which they first rub into trust, offer free services, and then blackmail and lure money through false law enforcement officers. Thus, 26 million rubles were stolen from people for 9 months of this year, and 11.5 of them were transferred to foreign accounts.
- The scheme of deception through the purchase and sale of goods on the Internet and social networks remains relevant, notes Alexander Ringevich. Internet thieves are especially active during the holidays. Before you buy something, carefully study the profile of the seller, request his data from the registry. If you want to transfer money to a card number, check which bank, which country it belongs to. You can do this by Google the first 6 digits. If the bank is foreign, there is no exact data about the seller, it is better not to transfer anything.
In second place in the amount of damage is false investment. Thus, 5 million rubles were stolen from Belarusians.
- Attackers most often deceive older people according to this scheme, he said. They take advantage of their digital illiteracy. In addition, the personal brand of a famous person or an entire organization is often used as advertising, confirmation of “good” intentions. If a major market participant is really involved in this project, then you can always contact them and ask about it directly, avoiding unpleasant consequences. False investors draw the necessary numbers to the client so that he believes that the yield is growing. It's actually a dummy. The fact that a person was deceived, he understands only after a time when the promised money cannot be withdrawn.
