Interior Ministry: during the day suspended spending operations on 53 accounts of cybercriminals

Over the past day, the police received more than 100 applications for phone scams. Thanks to the efficiency of law enforcement officers and the vigilance of citizens, the vast majority of atrocities were prevented, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Employees of the department of fraud processing blocked the possibility of payments to nine foreign details used by the attackers, and also suspended spending operations on 53 accounts. In addition, the blocking of phishing Internet resource was initiated. In turn, operatives detained a courier who worked in the interests of scammers.

However, nine crimes involving the use of information and communication technologies were recorded.

The most common method of fraud is the false purchase of goods on the Internet. The second position is vishing – calls allegedly from officials. Also, attackers actively use schemes related to trading on financial exchanges and rental housing.
