At the "Bellact" during the tactical-special exercises worked out actions in case of fire and ammonia emissions

Such events are not a formality, but a real test of the readiness of all services to emergency situations that may occur at work.

The scenario is as close as possible to real conditions. It all started with repair work in the room of the ammonia refrigeration unit. According to the plan, during the work there was a fire. “Flame” began to spread quickly, because of the high temperature began to collapse building structures, and then there was depressurization of tanks with ammonia. In the affected area were three people – they were injured and urgently needed help.

The first on the scene of the incident was the duty shift and the maintenance staff of the installation – they knew the equipment and could quickly assess the situation. In a matter of minutes, units of the Volkovysk district emergency department and employees of the central district hospital arrived to the place of the conditional emergency.

Rescuers quickly deployed a water curtain - a special barrier of small drops of water that helps precipitate the ammonia cloud and prevents it from spreading further. Rescuers conducted reconnaissance and evacuated all victims from the danger zone. Meanwhile, doctors were ready to receive the victims and provide first aid. In parallel, other actions were worked out: the evacuation of the rest of the staff, the elimination of fire and monitoring the condition of the equipment.

Summing up, the head of the sector of the organization of the functioning of the state system of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations and civil defense of the Volkovysk district department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Vitaly Butko noted that the main purpose of the exercises - to work out the interaction of the personnel of the enterprise and the units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations - was achieved. All participants coped with their tasks, showed good preparation and ability to act in a team.
