In Kuban want to simplify the receipt of medical care for suspected cancer

In Krasnodar, a conference was held on the organization of medical care for patients with cancer. About 70 participants – heads of medical institutions, specialized specialists, representatives of regional ministries and industry experts – discussed how to make the patient’s path from first treatment to treatment more understandable and continuous.

Deputy Minister of Health of the Krasnodar Territory Valentina Ignatenko noted that over five years more than 830 units of medical equipment have been purchased in the region. There are 20 outpatient oncological care centers and 28 primary oncology rooms in the region.

As part of the Kuban Against Cancer project, this year experts consulted about 52,000 residents and identified about 3,000 precancerous and cancerous processes. According to Ignatenko, it is important not only to ensure diagnosis and treatment, but also to organize the entire route of the patient so that he receives the necessary assistance in a timely manner.

The conference participants also discussed the quality of communication between doctors and patients and their loved ones, work with reviews and prevention of cancer. Elena Kochegarova, Director of the Center for Regional Development of the Krasnodar Territory, stressed that the patient should understand where to go, what actions to take and how treatment will be carried out.

The founder of the medical technology platform MedRocket Sergey Fedosov noted the importance of a human-centered approach, which takes into account the needs of the patient and his personal experience. “Ideally, the partnership between the doctor and the patient involves the patient’s family, which is close along the path of treatment, understands what is happening to the patient and supports him,” said Fedosov.

At the end of the conference, participants said that common approaches to routing and communication will help to improve the effectiveness of medical care. The region is already working on solutions to reduce organizational delays. In particular, the booking of stamps for tests for patients with suspected cancer is considered.

Earlier it became known that in the Krasnodar region since the beginning of the year, doctors have helped 20 thousand patients with heart attack and stroke.
