At the Novovoronezh nuclear power plant stopped the fifth unit

At the Novovoronezh NPP, the operation of Unit 5 was temporarily suspended. According to the communications department of the station, the reason was the need to repair heat exchange equipment. According to preliminary estimates, the work will take about 12 days.

The disconnection from the power grid occurred on October 17 at 02:48 MSK. After completion of the repair, the unit is planned to be returned to work.

At present, power units No. 4 and No. 7 are operated at the station - they generate electricity according to the dispatch schedule. Power unit No. 6 is under scheduled preventive repair.

The Communications Department stressed that the limits and conditions of safe operation were not violated. The radiation background in the area of the nuclear power plant is 0.11 μSv / h, which corresponds to natural values for the Voronezh region.
