In the Donskoy Tula region check possible air and soil pollution near the wagon-wheel workshops "Bobrik-Don". According to the appeals of the public organization “Environmental Protection”, the Tula Transport Prosecutor’s Office and Rosprirodnadzor conduct the inspection. Vadim Baranov, Chairman of the Commission on Ecology and Agriculture of the Public Chamber of the Tula Region, told about the interim results.
During on-site inspections on September 29 and October 16, 2026, specialists found violations on the territory of the workshops. Production waste was stored directly on the soil, and the pipe of the drainage system was cut into two parts and did not perform its function.
Because of this, sewage was discharged directly to the ground. On the terrain, they flowed through the forest belt and fell into the storm sewers.
On October 20, the head of the wagon repair depot Uzlovaya - a branch of LLC "New Car Repair Company" - made a submission demanding to eliminate violations. The issue of bringing the perpetrators to administrative responsibility is now being decided.
Separately, experts examined the atmospheric air near residential buildings on Lugovoi Street. Samples were taken in the presence of local residents. At the time, there was no chemical smell from the stream.
However, a laboratory study showed that tetrachloroethylene, also known as perchloroethylene, was present in the air of residential buildings. At the same time, its concentration, according to the expert opinion of October 16, 2026, did not exceed the maximum permissible level.
In the "Environmental Protection" note that perchloroethylene is an organic solvent, which is used including in industrial washing of overalls. The organization reports that residents have repeatedly felt a chemical smell near a stream on Lugovoi Street, in wells and on the territory of the car repair depot.
The check is ongoing. The results of soil samples are now expected. They should help assess the possible environmental impact of wastewater.
Representatives of “Environmental Protection” thanked residents who report the problem and participate in surveys, and said that they will continue to seek clarification of all the circumstances and eliminate the violations identified.
