At the memorial complex "Yurievsky Frontier" in the forests near Plesetsk, the first stage of the sculptural group was completed. This was reported in social networks by the Governor of the Arkhangelsk region Alexander Tsybulsky.
Here there were images of aircraft designer Sergei Ilyushin, pilot Joseph Skrobuk and hero of the SVO Roman Lobanov. Three different fates, each of which is related to the history of this place.
There are now 18 wooden figures at the border. The master from Velsk Sergey Khomov carves them out of the northern pine, trying to convey not only the external resemblance, but also the character of a person.
Alexander Tsybulsky thanked the historical and cultural society “Victory”, the team “Shyok decides” and all those who put their strength, time and soul into this work.
- Memory is preserved where children are told about their native land and taught to appreciate its history by their example, the governor said.
