The head of electric networks in the area of Kalmykia was sent to jail for a bribe from business

In the Maloderbetovsky district of Kalmykia, the head of local electric networks was detained. He is suspected of receiving a large bribe. As the investigation established, in June 2024, the head received at least 630 thousand rubles from a relative of one of the entrepreneurs. The money was transferred for the illegal supply of electricity to a commercial facility without concluding a contract.

In exchange for remuneration, the defendant undertook not to reveal the facts of unaccounted resource consumption. As a result, from June 2024 to December 2025, he ignored violations, which allowed the entrepreneur to use electricity for free. Damage to the energy sales company exceeded 4 million rubles.

To recover the losses, investigators arrested the suspect’s cars and money in his bank accounts. The court at the request of the investigation sent the man to jail. Criminal proceedings have also been initiated against the bribe-giver. Now the evidence base is being collected in the case.
