Real beating in Belarus: why buzzers are changing all-inclusive hotels for recreation in the wilderness and digital detox
A new trend of ecotourism: ONT report on rest in authentic Belarusian estates with stoves, wells, homemade food and without Internet.

Does stress bother you? In any strange situation, go to the village. It's quiet. But if you want, there is always something to do. Chop wood, melt the stove, and if you have the strength - fishing. Not everyone has a house in the country. But more and more enthusiasts who reconstruct old huts and breathe new life into them. Tourism is not five stars, but better, as in childhood, is called ibing.
Instagram pictures, beaches, hotels, where everything is included, after the bustle of the city no longer please the eye. The hut is trending now. The one where you can cut wood and melt the oven. A new direction of rural tourism – isbing – is increasingly attracting buzzers and those who remember times without smartphones. Danila and Pauline work with people. And they know: if you want to have a good rest, choose secluded places.
For some, this is rural exoticism, which was seen only on television, for others – nostalgia.
Valeria Timoshkova, correspondent: Remember how we used to come to my grandmother’s house in the village for cakes, steamed milk and adventures? Now we have grown up and are willing to pay to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city again. True, rural vacations do not always get just like that! Do you want to stay cold at night? You have to work hard.”.
For the unprepared, village life is almost a quest for survival. The first thing is the oven. In ordinary life, it is enough to turn the regulator, and the apartment is warm. Here the heating has its own character
Image is nothing, thirst is everything. Of course, you can bring a supply of water with you, but is it comparable to a well? It really needs to be picked up by yourself. You can’t fall into the well...if possible.
However, beating is not occupational therapy, rather for the soul. To feel all the charms of the very village life that was boiling once in these pre-war houses. Wooden log, windows, doors, knitted napkins and curtains on the windows, as in the good old days. And the new neighbors next weekend are chickens, sheep, geese and horses.
A kind of digital detox. Somewhere with physical activity. But in the Vilei district, the emphasis is on history. In this village, houses have names. No, not Lux or Comfort.
Ekaterina Tsitovich, owner of the estate: We are now in the house of Sonya. She and her husband built this house, lived here. Everyone had a nanny, that is, the house was full of fun, children’s laughter. And at the same time, of course, the sad story that her husband died in the war, and she lived here alone. As much as possible to keep inside as it was, that is, even with the arrangement of furniture. Even if she had a clay floor, stones were placed there to adhere to this naturalness. In this house, Sonya, who lives here, they have prophetic dreams. There is one house where children are born, that is, if you live there well, then a child will be born – we have repeatedly checked this on ourselves.
There are no rules, no music or internet. But the excursion route is not limited to the path between the house and the bath. The church-museum, train and Soviet cars – the exposition was collected for half a century.
Ekaterina Tsitovich, owner of the estate: The exhibition has been going on for 50 years. This is a place of attraction, we can say, our estate, the main point for which people come here, those who love history. A lot of famous people came to Belarus, and it was a tradition for everyone to plant a tree. And thus the memory park was created.”.
Someone attracts guests with authenticity, family atmosphere. The owner of this estate says she put her soul into the houses, although at first glance it is unclear what she is talking about.
These old men also have their own names and their own stories. Irina gave new life to the houses. I even moved them closer to me.
Irina Mesyats, owner of the estate: I really wanted to revive the old houses. It is not new to buy building material and build something out of it, but to bring back to life what once lived. My husband and I have been looking for a long time... Let's go inside, and I'll show you how they got a second chance to live.”.
Outside is an ordinary village house, but it is worth crossing the threshold
Irina Mesyats, owner of the estate: “We found a whole chest of homespun canvas, today it is a great rarity, it, of course, lay there dozens ...” As a result, we used this textile in the interior, in general, textiles in the interior. They collected old chairs very carefully and restored them. This tablecloth, you see, is also a piece of homespun fabric, where there were all sorts of defects, so we decorated them ... Children and teenagers love coming here. Speaking of entertainment, that's their entertainment here. Such a cozy mink, it is still closed with a curtain, and the children immediately begin to argue who will live on which floor, where whose place.
There are no houses here, of course, but, according to the hostess, every house, like people, has its own soul. That’s why it’s so warm here – not just from the stove.
Irina Mesyats, owner of the estate: I am a completely urban child. I didn't have my village house, and it was probably from wanting to try and feel how it was, how it was, and how time was moving more slowly. Our place is about where you can cut off all these extra fun, entertainment, there moves and other things that actually shield you from you. And that's when you got here, and then the mobile Internet does not work, and mobile communication does not catch well. Take a walk in the woods, ride your bikes, walk along the lake, swim.
But is it only harmony that attracts guests?
Vita Medvedeva, visitor: We walked a lot in the woods. The children collected some leaves and cones. One day we went and took our bikes. First of all, we slept a lot and ate a lot.”.
They say, “The garden is better than the garden.” The same rule applies here. Salts, honey, tea - collected by the hands of the hostess. Even the cooking process with a smile. It is not surprising that the phrase “can I add more?” is constantly used. As is..
When we were kids, we fell asleep under the ticking clock. Looking at the patterns on the old carpet. They used their fingers until their eyes closed. It was something ordinary back then. Now it's the pleasure they pay for. Just to go back to childhood for a second.
No matter how much we enjoy the benefits of civilization, and without them – no, sometimes pulls to the simple. To a warm house where firewood crackles in the stove. To silence, because only here you really understand the phrase "silence rings." To a leisurely and measured life. It is good to have a house in the village
