The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution of Germany (BfV) has developed a board quest game to interest young people in a career in the security service. According to the newspaper Bild, the presentation of the project called “Anxiety Level: Red” (“Alarmstufe: Rot”) was held at a specialized exhibition in Essen.
The game is designed for participants from 14 years and involves up to six players. The plot revolves around the investigation of the death of an engineer who worked at secret critical infrastructure facilities. The game touches on topics of cyber and counterintelligence – in particular, the use of encrypted communication and the use of drones.
BfV emphasizes that the project is aimed at people who like to observe, collect and analyze information. Important elements of the game are teamwork and logical thinking – these skills are in demand in the department. Thus, BfV seeks to attract as potential candidates an audience that matches the profile of the right specialists.
