The new program “Hybrid Energy Systems” in the educational direction “Energy of the Future” will start in November at the National Children’s Technopark. This sb.by reported in the educational institution.

- Students will become familiar with modern approaches to energy production, storage and distribution, learn how traditional and renewable sources can work in a single system, and learn how to evaluate the effectiveness of energy solutions.
According to the developer of the program, senior lecturer of the Department of Industrial Heat and Heat Engineering of the Faculty of Energy of the Belarusian National Technical University Ivan Prokopeni, the idea of its creation was due to two reasons - the need to expand the variety of educational shifts and the growing importance of hybrid technologies in the period of active development of renewable energy:
- Traditional fossil fuel-based energy faces resource exhaustion and adverse climate impacts. Renewable sources such as solar and wind are environmentally friendly, but their production can be uneven and unpredictable. Hybrid systems combine multiple energy sources and smooth these fluctuations, providing a reliable power supply. The program will provide the knowledge needed to design efficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly energy systems of the future.
Students will study traditional and renewable energy sources. Traditional gas and diesel generators are often used as backup or base sources in hybrid systems. Among renewable sources, special attention will be paid to solar photovoltaics, wind energy, small hydropower and bioenergy. Students will also be introduced to energy storage systems, including batteries and hydrogen storage, intelligent control systems and digital tools for modeling and optimizing power systems. Students will be able to implement projects – from training models to existing prototypes.
- The knowledge gained will become the basis for a future career in the field of energy, engineering, smart cities, development of solar panels and hydrogen fuel cells, said Ivan Prokopenia. The National Children’s Technopark will introduce a new training program related to metal science from November
