Named the cause of death of 40-year-old boxer Boytsov

Russian heavyweight boxer Denis Boytsov died from a clot. This was told by his sister in an interview with Zvezdanews.

Farewell to the athlete was scheduled for October 18 in the Orel region.

In the early 2010s, Fighters was considered one of the most promising Russian heavyweights. He spent ten years in the professional ring without defeats and was preparing to meet with Wladimir Klitschko.

The athlete died at the age of 40. Shortly before his death, he underwent surgery to remove a kidney stone, but his brother Maxim does not link the surgery with the death of the boxer.

In 2015, Boytsov's life changed dramatically after he was found unconscious in a Berlin subway with severe head and hand injuries. The athlete was put into a medical coma, he underwent several operations and underwent long-term rehabilitation in Germany, and then in Russia.

The last 11 years of his life, the boxer could not talk and communicated with loved ones through gestures. According to Maxim Boitsov, he understood the speech addressed to him, but could only respond with nods. The brother of the athlete said that about ten years took care of him.
