Do not shoot on the phone and remain calm: in the Ministry of Forestry told how to act when meeting with a bear

Bears have no interest in humans and tend to hide from prying eyes, showing aggression in exceptional cases. How to act if a meeting with a bear still occurred, said the head of the hunting department of the Ministry of Forestry of Belarus Alexander Kozorez, reports sb.by.

- Bears are peaceful in Belarus. This part of the population was long under the hunting press, and the bears developed a strong immunity to humans. Humans are associated with danger rather than a food source, as in eastern populations where bears can prey on humans. In no case should you go with animals to contact voluntarily, fuss or shoot on the phone. Keeping calm and not attracting attention, it is better to calmly retire. You do not need to pay attention to small cubs if you meet on the way: the mother bear will protect them. Aggressively, bears can manifest themselves next to prey, their food. During the mushroom season in the forest, it is important to behave noisily: talk, step on branches. Animals hear foreign sounds and themselves go deep into the thicket.
