The oil refinery has started testing protective special staff for asphalt on the territory of Belaruskali

On September 15-16, the oil refinery conducts tests of special protective composition for asphalt coatings at the sites of OJSC Belaruskali. Specialists of the plant will monitor how the composition will behave in extreme conditions, including during winter salt treatment. This was reported to the correspondent of sb.by by the Director of UE "Oil plant" Alexander Khramtsov.

Asphalt roads in the production areas of OJSC “Belaruskali” are subject to constant high exposure to potassium and sodium chlorides. Rain dissolves salt dust, creating a highly corrosive solution. Ordinary asphalt concrete in such conditions is destroyed many times faster, the salt solution literally breaks the coating from the inside.

Protective compositions of the Oil Plant create a hydrophobic seamless film on the surface of the asphalt. The main task of impregnation is not to allow salt solutions to penetrate into the asphalt concrete coating.

For the Oil Plant, this is an ideal stress test of products in extreme industrial conditions.

If the composition withstands the conditions and specific load of the potash giant, this will be a positive sign for its further use, the source said.

UE "Oil-bitumen Plant" (Cherven district, Koleina) specializes in the production of road and roof bitumen, as well as bitumen emulsions. The plant provides the domestic market and the construction industry of Belarus with materials for laying, repairing roads and waterproofing. It produces about a third of road oil bitumens in Belarus.
