In the Tula region, employees of the traffic police conducted a preventive raid “Light up!” and handed mushroom pickers bright raincoats with retroreflective elements. As explained “MK in Tula” in the Department, such equipment will help fans of “quiet hunting” to remain visible to drivers at dusk and during the rain.
The bottom line is that in autumn, many residents of the region go to the forest for mushrooms. At the same time, part of the way they have to overcome along busy roads, and return home already in the dark. To reduce the risk of pedestrian accidents, road inspectors visited roads near forests and popular mushroom picking sites.
During the raid, traffic police officers reminded pedestrians about safety rules and the importance of reflectors on clothing. In addition to raincoats, road users were given special bags with reflective coating. The gifts were prepared within the framework of the federal project “Road Safety” of the national project “Infrastructure for Life”.
To make pedestrians more visible on the road, inspectors added retroreflective elements to the raincoats. Thanks to them, the person will be better visible in the light of car headlights, which will give the driver more time to react.
The traffic police of the Tula region stressed that reflectors are an important measure of protection, especially in autumn, when visibility on the roads deteriorates. Pedestrians are advised to use such elements on clothing and accessories, as well as be careful when driving along the carriageway.
Earlier, “MK in Tula” told how the traffic police helped the family of a nine-year-old boy with a severe hand injury quickly get to the hospital. The incident occurred on October 10 on the highway M2 “Crimea”. The child injured his arm with a rotating concrete mixer mechanism while helping his father. Parents turned to patrol, fearing to lose valuable time: the movement towards Tula was hampered by traffic jams, and the condition of the fingers required urgent medical attention.
