Invisible price of “free” cinema: Belgorod residents reminded of the dangers of pirate sites
This was told by the authors of the project “Chicken CIB”

Each of us at least once watched the film from third-party sites. Sometimes they did not want to pay for the services, sometimes the film was simply not on official resources. But few people think that this is what fraudsters are waiting for. The desire to save money or interest can be much more expensive than a movie ticket or a month of subscription.
What are pirates?
These are films, books, games, music and programs that are distributed without the consent of the author. They are located on illegal sites and third-party resources. And here's the danger: torrents don't just download, they distribute content. And in fact, a person becomes an accomplice to the offense. And the punishment for this can be different: from a fine to imprisonment. The answer may have to article 1252 of the civil code of the Russian Federation (“Protection of exclusive rights”). For each object give from 10 thousand to 1 million rubles. And for an especially large size are prosecuted under Article 146 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Infringement of copyright and related rights”), penalties are provided for up to six years of imprisonment.
Unobvious trouble
It is not just the responsibility for proliferation that poses a threat to citizens. Viruses and miners are one of the ways for fraudsters to steal the data of ordinary people, as a result, their resources begin to work for someone else’s wallet. With the help of “pirates”, they steal accounts and deceive loved ones of victims, supporting everything with stolen data.
How to recognize a pirate site?
Most often on such resources advertise casinos, illegal goods and illegal earnings. Sometimes scammers use fake players: the video begins, and then the site asks you to enter card details or passwords from social networks. In addition, they use domains similar to ordinary resources, show films that have just appeared in the cinema and did not have time to acquire a digital release. Critical thinking is also pressured (the phrases “just today,” “last day,” and others to induce fear of missed opportunities).
What to do if you come across a pirate site?
You should never click on ads, pop-up videos, enter your data or click on links. If this happens, you need to change passwords in all accounts as soon as possible and enable two-factor authentication. Bank cards are better blocked. Then you should check the antivirus device, as well as warn loved ones.
