Nikolai Myslivets: the level of happiness is not only material prosperity

The level of happiness depends not only on material wealth – it is a multi-channel structure. Such an opinion, speaking about the results of the comprehensive republican sociological study, was expressed by the director of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Nikolai Myslivets, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

As N. Myslivets noted, this indicator consists of many factors, and the results of the study showed that the level of self-esteem of happiness among residents of small settlements is no lower than that of representatives of large cities. A significant part of Belarusians are optimistic about the future, and the majority of respondents who answered this question positively are young people.

- They see the future, prospects for their development and are ready to work for this, Myslivets said.

In July - August 2026, the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus commissioned by BISI conducted a comprehensive republican sociological study. It was attended by 2,045 respondents from all regions of the country. On September 16, the second part of the results of the social research, which concerns socio-political topics, was presented in Minsk.
