Nizhny Novgorod residents began to use Russian cloud services more often

With the beginning of the academic year, young people of Nizhny Novgorod aged 18-24 showed the highest growth rates of users of domestic clouds. Their share in September 2026 increased by 20% compared to August, follows from the data of analysts of MegaFon, who analyzed the six largest Russian and foreign cloud platforms.

In general, the growth of interest in the country is associated with a return to regular training and work activity after the summer period. At this time, the need for storage and exchange of documents, training materials and other files between devices increases. The number of users increased in other age groups, but not as much. Among teenagers 14-17 years of age, the total audience of Russian services increased by 3%, and in the category of 25-34 years - by 2%.

At the same time, the audience of the Russian cloud is 35-44 years old: in September they accounted for 42% of the total number of users. Next in number was the group of 45-54 years with a share of 25%. Together, these two age categories form more than two-thirds of the audience of Russian cloud services.

Men in the Nizhny Novgorod region make up the majority of users: 58% across all platforms. Women account for 42%, respectively. Russian platforms occupy a significant place in the overall consumption of cloud services. In September, Yandex Disk and Cloud Mail accounted for more than 70% of traffic from all platforms. In terms of the number of users, they ranked third and fourth, respectively, behind iCloud and Google’s cloud service.
