Novgorod region is preparing for the anniversary festival of Dostoevsky and sums up the year

Work continues on the priority tasks of development of the Novgorod region in the field of sports, culture and tourism. For 2026, many projects were implemented, said Deputy Governor of the Novgorod region Elena Kirilova in the social network Vkontakte.

In 2026, six sports grounds were built in municipalities. To strengthen the personnel potential of the industry, the Zemsky Coach program is being implemented. An important event of the year was the first regional Spartakiad of labor collectives.

The summer period was marked by a series of solemn openings: repairs of cultural houses and libraries were completed, new tourist facilities were put into operation. These projects are implemented within the framework of the national projects “Family” and “Tourism and Hospitality”.

The cultural agenda of the year was full. Among the major events are the festival of young cinema “New Movement”, the festival named after Rachmaninov, the summer programs “Oneg” and “Novgorod Summer”, as well as the premiere project “Novgorod Mosaic”.

In the near future, the anniversary XXX international festival of theatrical arts named after Dostoevsky starts. The program and geography of the festival are expanded: Novgorod region expects guests from Kazakhstan, India, the Republic of Korea and Turkey.
