New Year holidays 2026-2027 again postponed: how now we will rest – the exact schedule
Officially approved: how Russians will rest in 2027 and what has changed in the New Year holidays.

Planning vacations and family trips has become easier: the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation approved the production calendar for 2027 in advance. The main intrigue of the document concerns winter holidays and the emergence of new convenient long weekends.
To make winter rest more continuous, the authorities went to a tricky maneuver with the transfer of days. Saturday weekend of early January (2nd and 3rd) was redistributed: one day “gone” on November 5th, and the other was officially made a day off on December 31st, 2026. The result is encouraging: with a five-day working week, Russians will have a full rest from January 1 to 10, 2027 inclusive. The first working day will come only on Monday, January 11.
The calendar gave us a few comfortable mini-vacations, evenly spread over the months:
• March 6-8 – International Women’s Day;
• May 1-3 – Festival of Spring and Labor;
• May 8-10 – Victory Day;
• June 12-14 - Day of Russia;
November 4-7 - National Unity Day (including transfers).
The schedule for the Defender of the Fatherland Day has also been adjusted: the weekend has been postponed to Monday, February 22, which will provide a three-day rest from the 21st to the 23rd.
A separate pleasant bonus for all: December 31, 2027 at the legislative level is fixed as an official non-working day throughout the country. This means that the pre-holiday fuss, the purchase of gifts and preparation for the chime fight will pass without haste and the need to take off from work.
In 2027, Russians expect 247 working days and 118 weekends and holidays. Save this schedule to book tickets in advance and plan your family budget correctly!
