New Year holidays 2026-2027 again postponed: how now we will rest – the exact schedule

The Russian government has approved a production calendar for 2027, and fans of long weekends have a great reason to celebrate. Officials went on a tricky move with the rescheduling of days to make winter vacations as uninterrupted as possible. The weekend, which falls on January 2 and 3, was redistributed: one day was added to the November holidays, and the second was officially made a day off on December 31, 2026.

The result is amazing: with a standard five-day holiday, Russians will rest from 1 to 10 January 2027 inclusive. You will have to go to work only on Monday, January 11.

But this is not the only gift from the schedulers. There will be several comfortable mini-vacations this year that will help you reboot in different seasons:

• March 6-8 – International Women’s Day;

May 1-3 – for the Festival of Spring and Labor;

• May 8-10 – on Victory Day;

• June 12-14 – on the Day of Russia;

November 4-7 - on the Day of National Unity (due to competent transfers).

The schedule for the Defender of the Fatherland Day was also adjusted: the weekend was shifted to Monday, February 22, which will provide a three-day rest from 21 to 23.

A separate pleasant bonus for all workers: December 31, 2027 at the legislative level is fixed as an official non-working day throughout the country. No more need to beg for time off from the authorities to have time to buy gifts and calmly prepare for the chimes.

In total, in 2027, Russians are waiting for 247 working days and 118 days of rest and holidays.
