New Year holidays 2026-2027 again postponed: how now we will rest – the exact schedule

Do you like to plan vacations and trips in advance? Great news: the Cabinet has already approved the schedule of holidays and postponed days for 2027. This gives citizens and businesses almost a year and a half to quietly book tickets and agree on work schedules.

The main feature: super-long winter holidays

To make winter holidays as comfortable as possible, officials used the classic “technical maneuver”. Two January Saturdays (2nd and 3rd) decided not to consider working days, but to postpone them to other dates.

As a result, Saturday January 3 “moved” to December 31, 2026, and January 2 was sent to November 5, 2027. Thanks to this castling, everyone who works on a standard five-day basis will be able to legally stop working until Monday, January 11, 2027. A real marathon of rest!

Another Long Weekend in 2027

The changes did not only affect winter. To make February holidays more convenient, Saturday, February 20, was moved to Monday, the 22nd. So we will get a solid weekend from 21 to 23 February to the Defender of the Fatherland Day.

Full list of bonuses from the new calendar:

6-8 March: International Women's Day;

May 1-3: Spring and Labor Festival;

• May 8-10: Victory Day;

• June 12-14: Day of Russia;

• November 4-7: National Unity Day.

A separate gift for those who like to prepare a festive table without haste: December 31, 2027 is officially fixed as a non-working day.
