Novosibirsk to celebrate winter with 538 snowplows

According to the Department of road and welfare complex of the city hall, the number of prepared equipment almost did not change compared to last winter. In the season 2025-2026 on the balance of municipal services were 535 specialized machines.

In total, road maintenance institutions have about 800 units of equipment. More than half of this park is dedicated to winter street maintenance. If necessary, contractors will be connected to the cleaning. In previous years, during periods of heavy rainfall, the city additionally used up to 250 third-party vehicles.

The mayor’s office said that the amount of resources for the coming winter plan to keep at the level of last season. If the snowfall is particularly heavy, the amount of equipment involved will increase at the expense of contractors.

During heavy rainfall, road services will work around the clock. Additional sweeping and cleaning machines will be brought to the streets, more crews will be involved for manual cleaning. The roadway and sidewalks will also be treated with deicing materials.

The administration also appealed to motorists. Drivers are asked not to leave their cars on streets where snow removal is planned. If the car is still parked near the road, it is recommended to leave a note with a contact phone number under the windshield.

Parked cars interfere with the work of special equipment and reduce the efficiency of cleaning. Especially important is the ability to quickly clear the roadway during heavy snowfall, when road services have to work in enhanced mode.
